Dear Camilla: UK & Ireland Tour Announcement

June 22, 2026

This July, Patrick Galvin heads to the UK and Ireland for a six-date tour of Dear Camilla, his deeply personal program created with Australian pianist Jennifer Hou.

Released in August 2025 on Navona Records, Dear Camilla, honours the life and influence of Camilla Wicks, the celebrated violinist who taught and shaped Patrick during his studies. Rather than a conventional recital, the program interweaves performance with spoken storytelling — drawing on letters, memory, and mentorship to build a concert experience that feels both intimate and universal.

The project began during Patrick and Jennifer's Master's studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, growing from a personal tribute into a full album and touring program. Jennifer has spoken about being drawn to the project's vulnerability, noting that the spoken-word elements help draw audiences closer into the music itself.

Critics have responded warmly: Textura praised the duo's performances as carrying "sensitivity, intimacy, and a shared musical vision" across the program's repertoire by Sibelius, Chopin/Sarasate, Chausson, Pärt, and Amy Beach.

For the UK leg, the program also includes works by Greenhill and Higdon, alongside a newly commissioned piece by Australian-Chinese composer Jolin Jiang, written especially for this tour.
